You Only Need These 3 Pieces In Your Closet
Yep, only three. Today we’re going to look at three items from one of our personal favorite brands, The Row. The Row is a great brand that carries every and any essential clothing pieces you should own in your closet. These individual pieces can be worn together or paired with anything else in your closet. Yes, anything else in your closet. It’s truly just as easy as 1, 2, 3. We want to not only share these three pieces with you but offer some ideas on how we would style these amazing lifesaving (and time saving) items. It’s time to stop overthinking what we’re going to wear for the day and time to dress stylishly and confidently. Here’s how.
Dustina Oversize Blazer
You know by now, from past Closet Correspondent correspondence, that a blazer is a non-negotiable essential item everyone should own. However, we have yet to find the perfect blazer. Until now that is. The Dustina Oversize Single Breasted Blazer has brought our search to an end. It’s been long established that The Row’s strong suit is, well, suiting. This blazer is proof of that. Crafted from the softest blended wool, this blazer maintains the oversize silhouette without drowning out the feminine frame.
Tip 1: For a classic minimalist look, pair with a classic button down shirt like this Schiffer Shirt from Lysee and a pair of relaxed trousers and leather penny loafers or for a more relaxed look, with a pair of sneakers.
Tip 2: To achieve an edgier streetwear look, take your favorite hoodie and layer it beneath the Dustina Blazer and opt for a pair of sweatpants such as these Asha Cotton Blend Joggers from 4th & Reckless. The suited blazer is offset by the thick, basic sweatpants and sweatshirt and are perfect for the ever popular streetwear aesthetic.
The Robi Cady Dress
The “little black dress” or the LBD, has been around for decades and decades. Often made popular by starlets such as Audrey Hepburn and designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and of course Chanel, the LBD is a style staple and the foundation of our closet. It’s so essential because there are so many occasions that call for it and there are numerous ways to style it. You can’t go wrong with a little black dress and yet there are so many ways it has been remixed and the Robi Cady Dress from The Row is the latest version that we have come to adore so much. Now mind you, it’s not exactly little in fact this full length shift dress is oversized with an A-line silhouette which is giving a bit of a witch-y energy. It's kind of a moody piece with short sleeves and side pockets - which for us women is a huuuuuge plus to have a dress with pockets. Because this dress is so “plain” and to be honest, kind of basic makes it easy to style in a few different ways.
Tip 1: This dress is very “cottage core,” meaning it has country cottage vibes to it. Lean into that oversize, comfort aesthetic and pair with a cozy oversize sweater such as this Button Up Oversized Cardigan from 4th & Reckless. The oversize sweater layered with the oversized dress creates a Balenciaga-esque relaxed but chic look.
Tip 2: Probably wondering what shoes to wear with this dress, don’t worry we got you covered with multiple options. You could choose your favorite trainers to pair with the Robi dress to dress it down or you could even wear the Monceau Loafer also from The Row to maintain that all-black cottage core look. Finally, any pair of boots could be fun to add some texture and color to the dress, we’re thinking of these Doc Marten 1460 Smooth Boots in Fuchsia Leather. Very much Courtney Love/90s vibes.
Patch Square Toe Boot
A girl can never have too many boots right? You may actually be getting rid of a lot of your boots after we introduce you to these Patch Square Toe Boots from The Row. This knee high boot with a square toe is the ideal boot. The block heel is the perfect height and the square toe is reminiscent of boots from the 90s era but with a more modern interpretation. Made from Italian leather, these boots are extremely versatile and can be worn anywhere including work, date night, errand running, PTA meetings, and the list goes on and on. They’re chic, modern and stylish as hell and can be worn with anything you already own in your closet, guaranteed. We’re thinking of pairing these with our favorite work slacks, our satin shift skirt, distressed denim shorts and even with the Robi Dress and Dustina Blazer we’ve already mentioned. No tips needed for these boots, they will gladly and willingly go along with any outfit you have in mind, and then some. So what do you think? Do these items seem like something you desperately need in your closet if you don’t have them already? Let us know in the comments, until next time.
Sincerely,
Kailyn Chadwick, The Closet Correspondent
