TikTok Trends We’ve Tried
It used to be what we saw in magazines that made us want to try a new look. Then it was music videos, television shows and eventually Instagram. Now it seems TikTok is the newest trend navigator. TikTok is the video editing app that lets creatives from all over the globe upload minute long videos showing off everything from their makeup skills to the latest dance trends. Now it seems like fashion is being influenced by these influencers in a mere sixty seconds or less. We rounded up a few of our favorite TikTok style trends that we picked up from the app and this is what we found.
Hair Scarves
Scarves have long been an essential in our closet. They’re fun, they can instantly elevate an outfit and are also a great way to add color to your look. We couldn’t help but notice that on various TikTok videos scarves seemed to be popping up and out at us everywhere. We especially noticed scarves being wrapped and tied around the crown of the head and worn as hair accessories. Silk scarves and bandanas added a bit of “cottage core” to these fashion videos and we felt it was perfect and just in time for summer. It's also an easy way to accessorize in a different way and a perfect solution for those bad hair days or days where we just don’t feel like washing our hair...

Printed Jeans
Denim is another major essential in our closet. We’ve got light wash, dark wash, distressed, skinny jeans, bootcut, and flare. You name it and we’ve got it...or so we thought. Another trend we couldn't ignore on TikTok was the reappearance of printed denim, that is denim with groovy and 70s inspired patterns in different colors printed onto dyed denim. We thought this was a great way to play with denim and to reinvent denim yet again to make it feel like something new and fun to add to our closet. Printed denim is a fun way to introduce color and pattern into your wardrobe if you’re one to typically shy away from that kind of thing and it's easy to style with a solid color tee and some basic trainers or flats.

Sculptural Bags
Where does a TikTok-er keep their selfie light, cell phone and lip gloss anyways? Well in a geometric hand bag of course! We’ve talked about micro-minis before but what about sculptural handbags? Who knew changing the shape of a handbag could be so much fun and a great way to rethink what a purse can be. These bags can be a great way to add that element of fun to getting dressed. You can never have too many purses after all, so we were quick to jump on this trend of geometrical handbags.
