“If’s” and “When’s.”

Another week and another chat with Bunny Fayne and Kailyn. This week we’re talking about the “if’s” and “when’s.” You know, “if we weren’t in quarantine” or “when things go back to normal.” Those statements we seem to have been saying every day for the last twelve months because our everyday life in every way seems to have been affected by Covid. This time around we’re going to be doing something a little different. Our editor will be in the interviewer’s seat and is asking the questions and our resident writer has all the answers. Enjoy

Bunny: It's safe to assume we all had to find creative ways to make our birthdays special this last year. If circumstances allowed, how would you have celebrated your birthday this past year?

Kailyn: Well, for one I would’ve been able to celebrate with more of my friends and family. My birthday was in August, in the thick of the pandemic so there wasn’t even outdoor dining. I would’ve gone to my favorite French restaurant in San Francisco and then gone to some of my favorite bars and clubs at night.

Bunny: When all goes back to “normal,” what is one activity you look forward to doing that quarantine has prevented you from?

Kailyn: I love going to the movies. I used to go to the movies at least once a week with my sister or my best friend even if the movie wasn’t necessarily good. It was something that I didn’t realize I loved doing so much until I wasn’t able to do it anymore, so I will definitely be making up for lost time once theaters open again.

Bunny: When we’re able to celebrate holidays again, what is one holiday you’re looking forward to celebrating?

Kailyn: Probably New Year’s. Every New Year’s we host a party at our house for all of our friends to come over and celebrate. We make cocktails, dress up and of course there’s the kiss at midnight. I imagine it's going to be so overwhelmingly joyous to celebrate any holiday with friends and family this next year. The indoor dining experience has been nonexistent this last year.

Bunny: What’s one restaurant you are looking forward to dining indoors this year?

Kailyn: Hmm...probably any restaurant although the outdoor dining experience can be very nice if the weather isn’t too chilly. It reminds me of outdoor cafes in Paris. If i had to choose a restaurant that I miss dining inside of it would probably be Chez Maman in Hayes valley or Dr. Teeth’s in the Mission. The latter is more of a bar setting, but it has a great vibe that I can’t wait to get back to.

Bunny: What is one thing that has been affected by quarantine that you previously took for granted?

Kailyn: For one, being able to hug my friends, or even see them at all. I had one quarantine buddy and he had to return to work, so for the most part it's just been me and my family. Another thing, on a lighter note, that I took for granted has been being able to use fitting rooms while shopping. Ha! That’s made shopping a bit difficult at times. But I am so thankful that my family has been healthy and we’ve been here for each other.

Bunny: Thanks for joining us, see you next week for more Coffee Tock ;)
