1. The Oula Company

CEO and founder Erika Dalya Massaquoi created The Oula Company with the focus of sustainable, transeasonal, and cultural inclusivity in mind. Oula’s aesthetic is “an elevated retro vibe,” with the mod energy of the 60s and 70s eras. All of Oula’s pieces are meant to be worn in any season and for any time of day or occasion whether it’s work or play and you’re guaranteed to feel comfortable and confident in any one of their creations. All of Oula’s garments are created locally, right here in the USA from fabrics that are meant to last forever and will never see the inside of a landfill. Oula says that, “Black joy is our aesthetic and our promise for all to celebrate.” We can’t think of any reason better than this to celebrate. Right now we’re obsessed with Oula Company’s Printed Tiered Dress in “Toffee Paisley.” It’s the perfect transitional dress from winter to spring that we can dress up or down with a simple change of shoes and accessories. You can support The Oula Company right now on Nordstrom online.

2. GOODEE

Oh yes this company is good indeed. Founded in 2017 by Byron and Dexter Peart, these twin brothers wanted to launch a new brand that focused on modern sustainable options for everyday life. The pair works with local artisans to offer products that have a positive impact on the environment. The Peart’s say, “our values are simple: we believe in good design, good people and good impact.” With community, transparency and sustainability at the center of their mission we have no doubt that Goodee will change our world for the better all while making us a little chicer. From candles to woven baskets to skincare, Goodee has you covered for all of your gift giving and self-care needs. You can find it all in one place on Nordstrom online.

3. UOMA

Uoma, it means “beautiful,” and that’s exactly how these products make us feel. Pronounced, “uh-mah,” and founded by Nigerian born Sharon Chuter, Uoma’s mission is to “rewrite the rules of inclusivity.” Chuter says, “Our race is human, our people are free and our language is color. All are welcome to our beautiful tribe.” A simple but powerful message that is so relevant today and a great message for a beautiful beauty brand. Uoma carries products for eyes, lips and face that come in bold, graphic packaging that’s just as pretty as the products themselves. Uoma’s foundations, which comes in 51 (!!!) shades has won numerous awards for its coverage and ingredients. You can find yours by taking their online shade quiz and we have to say it is scary accurate. Our favorite has to be their creamy, silky lipsticks that come in a range of colors from neutrals and nudes to deep berry tones. Shop Uoma now at, yup you guessed it, Nordstrom online. Happy shopping!
