The CC: Winter is Coming
Yes indeed winter is coming, it’s inevitable that the winter solstice is impending. Shorter days, longer nights and darker mornings, all signs that well, winter is coming. Despite the gloomier days (and weather) the streets are already looking more and more colorful in terms of winter street style trends. Geometrical shapes, contrasting colors and lots of leather seem to be a few of the trends emerging just in time for fall and winter. We have to say we’re pleasantly surprised at these trends because they seem to be unlike any other winter trends we’ve seen before. It seems like summer is just extending into fall and we’re still just out here having fun with color and patterns like we’ve been doing, but hey, we’re not complaining.
Color is Key
When it comes to shopping and dressing for the winter, we tend to gravitate towards the colors of the season which most of the time is a warmer, more neutral color palette. Blacks, grays and beiges take over and the colorful inspiration from the summer is now something of the past. We’re noticing this fashion season that color seems to be dominating the runway and our closets should reflect that. Nothing like a pop of red or orange to saturate a gloomy day and that’s why we love this Anna Check Jersey Top from Julia Heuer. This rainbow check stretch jersey top is perfect for adding a pop of color to any look. We also have our eyes on this Moncler Ghany Water Resistant Down Puffer Vest for days where we want to layer or step out for an early morning winter jog. Isn’t it a shame how so often our winter wardrobe is restricted and dictated by the weather. We think that should stop, meaning dresses and skirts should still be acceptable during the winter season and let’s not stop at that, let’s normalize bright colored dresses all year round. Dresses such as this Leona Oasis Print Long Sleeve SIlk Linen Midi Dress is perfect for adding a pop of color (and pep) to your days. Style with your favorite pair of combat boots or even leather riding boots and layer on your favorite statement necklaces for a twist on the winter dress.
Stay tuned for part #2 Patterns & Shapes
