We’re Pretending It’s Still Summer… Are You?

The end of summer has happened and we’re asking ourselves what trends can we continue using going into the winter months. Self-tanner? Gotta go. Beach inspired waves for our go-to hair style? We’ll keep that. What about our favorite makeup products? We’re talking about bronzers here. An easy way to get an instant sun-kissed look without spending a dime on a spray tan or laying out by the pool. Do we sometimes get carried away when applying bronzer? Yes, but does that mean we need to chuck it like we do with our flip flops and sarongs once the solstice ends? Not necessarily and in fact we believe we should do the opposite and embrace it during the chilly seasons.

For an every day we look we like to use this shimmering powder swept across our temple, across our cheeks and down the jawline. The highlighting effect warms our face’s best features and the residual powder left on the brush is perfect for sweeping over our neck and decolletage. If we desire a more sculpted look or a more defined effect for perhaps a girl’s night out or dinner sans children, we reach for the matte version and do a light contour under our cheek bones, along the hairline and under our jawline. Perhaps these techniques aren’t for you and you want an all over glow, the shimmering bronzer is perfect for a quick sweep across your entire face for an instant flush of color and illuminosity.
Whether you buff, blend or sweep you can do no wrong with this product. You can’t apply too much or too little and the bronzer itself lasts a long, long time. We like to play with different shades for contouring, an all over gleam and for eyeshadow use as well. We’re not sure where we stand when it comes to summer trends sneaking over into winter, but if we had to choose one to stick out the bitter frosty bite of November and December then we would choose the NARS Bronzing Powder again and again and again.
