The Perfect Nude
Oftentimes we find ourselves trying new trends when it comes to makeup. We want to know the best classic red to make our outfit pop or perhaps we’re interested in ways to naturally plump our pout. Maybe we need to invest in a lip exfoliant that’s sure to leave our lips baby soft and prepped and primed for lipstick. What we’ve realized we can’t live without is a reliable nude lip. Not a peachy nude or a pink nude, but a classic brown nude lip that we can throw on day in and day out. A nude that can go from day to night with the help of a liner and a product that will follow us from our vanity to our vehicle and back again. Well, we’ve searched low and high and we’ve finally found the shade that completed our quest.
Let’s get right to it. Yash from MAC Cosmetics is the nude you have been waiting for and this whole time it was right under our noses(pun intended).We love MAC products, so it was no wonder that they would have the answer to all of our nude lipstick related problems. First off, let the record show that this formula does not quit. It's a matte finish but the creamy consistency keeps our lips feeling plush rather than dry, which is a problem we tend to run into with other matte maquillaje. Yash leaves our lips feeling moisturized but what makes us a repeat purchaser is how long the wear is of this lip product. For a daytime, casual look we like to blot the lipstick on our upper and lower lip for a subtle nude effect. If we have some time to spare in our morning regimen we like to use a lip brush for a more precise application but if time is of the essence our ring-finger will do just fine.

Remember how we said we love this shade because it can transition from day to night in seconds? It’s all made possible thanks to another MAC product, a lipliner in the shade Spice. In a shade slightly darker than Yash, we like to line our lips for a more defined moment. This matte pencil shapes, defines and fills in our lips and we follow up with Yash to fill in our perfect stencil everytime. Just like the creamy formula we love with Yash, we find that with this pencil. The pencil is creamy and it doesn’t snag or drag along the lip line but it glides. Yes, glides smoothly every time. So, we can line our lips and follow up with our lipstick but there's a couple of other tricks we like to try when we’re playing with our pencils. Sometimes we like to prep our lips with MAC’s prep+prime and fill our entire kisser with Spice and then finish with Yash. This darkens our nude a bit for a more dramatic look. If you’re like us, then you know it can be difficult to perfectly line our lips, so we like to reverse the process with dabbing Yash on our upper and lower lip and then outlining and finishing with Spice. Sometimes we get a better result when we shake up the rules a bit.

Finding the perfect nude lip took us some time, but lucky for you we did the hard work and delivered the best possible results. Think of it like a two-for-one deal because we not only handed over the perfect matte nude but a liner as well. Just like finding the perfect shade of concealer or foundation, we had to try dozens of products and sort through the satins, mattes, liquid lipsticks, peachy nudes and pink-y nudes. We examined different crayons and sheens but Yash and Spice were a match made in heaven.
