Wear it Like You Mean It
Dressing with intention should never be confused with the antiquated and misguided fashion phrase, “Dress to impress.” Great style is focused and should have a clear, discernible message, a message that needs to be yours and yours alone.
The way that you dress should never have anything to do with conformity or mimicry. True and effective personal style has everything to do with identifying your authentic self and wearing it, inside out, and with confidence.
There is an incredible sense of freedom and fun that comes with the recognition that we are in charge of our own identities, and that only we can convey our unique, inner identity to the world. Accessories are the most important tool in our fashion arsenal. Clothes are merely a canvas, but it’s accessories that transform that canvas from something blank to a powerful signature statement – your signature statement.
Love yourself, be yourself, love what you wear – never losing sight of the fact that you should be wearing an outfit, rather than the outfit wearing you.
If you’ve gotten dressed and feel the sudden desire to do a little happy dance after looking in the mirror, you’ll know that the reflection looking back at you is who you were meant to be.
“Style – all who have it share one thing: originality.” –– Diana Vreeland
