Self-Care Routines

Kailyn Chadwick:

We’ve all had to adjust our self-care routines throughout COVID-19 and I’m curious as to how you have made time for self-care, whether it’s physical or mental? For me, I’ve found that doing workouts at home that I’ve found on YouTube or Instagram has really helped me...I also have had time to read all of the books that I didn’t have time to read before. I just finished a book of Leonard Cohen poetry and would read a new poem each day and contemplate the words. It keeps me curious and grounded. What about you?

Bunny Fayne:

Well...I'm listening to "A Promised Land" in Barack Obama's voice, while I'm walking around my hood, all by my lonesome. It would be rude otherwise if I were not alone :)

KC:

Oooo I heard great things about that book. What’s your favorite part about living in San Francisco? There’s so many great neighborhoods and places to try new food and experienced. What’s something you particularly love about living in SF?

BF:

I'm always checking out the different areas, people watching and uppermost...eating! Perhaps my most favorite part is just catching the sunlight dancing off the Golden Gate Bridge. It never gets old...ever!

KC:

I feel as if there’s a different part of the city for every mood but my favorite is probably the Mission, solely based on the fact that there’s so many great thrift shops (LOL). What is your go-to, reliable, can’t live without it, beauty product? I think me along with a lot of our readers would be interested to know.

BF:

I like to keep it simple (stupid) K.I.S.S.~ Revlon's Lip Liner in Chocolate, Bobbi Brown's tinted moisturizer and voilà...I'm not scary looking…sorta (lol).

KC:

I love tinted moisturizers, I don’t think I’ve ever even used foundation. Mine right now would have to be the NARS eyeliner pencil. It literally stays put all day and keeps its dark pigmentation. I wear it every day! What is something that you can’t leave the house without and why? For me, I can’t go anywhere without some sort of lipstick or chapstick. I have one in my car, two in my purse, one on the side of my bed, everywhere! My favorite is the KNC beauty balm in rose-hip.

BF:

What I can't leave the house without? Hmmmm...A mask and oh, my keys!

KC:

Okay one last question that I am curious to know the answer to, and I think is a fun one - when is the last time you experience something for the very first time? A fresh experience or encounter that was completely joyful and brand new?

BF:

I have two instances that come to mind for this one...The most special was living in Robin William’s apartment and seeing him when he'd come to fetch his mail. He was humble, sweet and shy and had the twinkliest blue eyes I'd ever seen. The Most recent was the other day. I was walking Chrissy Field and BAM! Two young women were picnicking and painting on a grassy knoll. It was truly magical!

KC:

Wow! Robin Williams really? That’s amazing and a testament to how the city can be so unexpected and surprising. Well on that note, I think we’ve abused our time together to its full extent, but I do want to say thank you Bunny for allowing me to pick your brain and ask some questions of you that I think we all are better for knowing the answers to. Until next week!

BF:

Of course! It was my pleasure!
