The best Tapas in Spain
A trip to Spain is not complete without a tapas tour. What do I mean by a tapas tour? Every time I visit this magical place of culinary treasures, I make it a point to hop from restaurant to restaurant in search of THE best tapas. Why is this obsessive search necessary? Because there is a fine art to Spanish tapas and when you find the Dali of tapas, it will change your life. And all tapas are not created equally. Take paella for instance (which can be ordered tapas style). Paella is not paella unless there’s a little char on the edges, and once you’ve had the perfect bite, with the perfect squeeze of lemon, you will never settle for less. So if you take my great advice and ever get to treat yourself to Spain’s national treasures, there are a few usual suspects you must try. There is the crowd-pleaser — croquetas de jamon — which are crispy, bite-sized logs (or balls) made with ham and coated with breadcrumbs. These are more addictive than <insert your poison here> and the #1 must-have. You should also try patatas bravas, a charcuterie board with jamón iberico and gildas, which is a simple but delicious assembly of anchovy, olives and chili peppers. Of course, always add a pitcher of sangria to your escapades for good measure. xoxo.
