Slowing down
Life comes at you fast ladies. And don’t get me wrong, I have always loved the thrill of the fast lane. I love the impulse, the dare, the risk … the spontaneity of it all. On the edge is where I feel most free. And 2019 was the never-ending edge for me: a year where I made a promise to myself to try everything. And boy did I … try everything. But something else happened last year: I looked back at all the things I did, all the places I went and the people I interacted with, and I realized that the small moments and memories were a blur. I found myself frantically searching for pictures and the one million Instastories I made to make sure I committed everything to memory. And at the turn of the New Year, almost fortuitously, I said to my inner self, “SLOW DOWN.”
AND THE QUESTION IS…WHAT ON EARTH DO WE DO, WHEN WE’RE STARING LIFE SQUARE IN THE EYES, LIGHTS ON, WITH THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY ON FULL DISPLAY?
Because life is like falling in love. Sometimes the beauty is in slowing down to take it in and cherish the smaller moments. And this is where most of us are today. Slowing down. And the question is … what on earth do we do, when we’re staring life square in the eyes, lights on, with the good, the bad and the ugly on full display? So we thought we’d share five things we can all be doing in these slower times to make the best of it, and come out on the other end sane and uplifted. Please, enjoy!
