Recreate These Looks For Under $100
If you’re like us, then perhaps you spent the holidays binging some of your favorite movies and tv shows. For us, like most of the world, The White Lotus consumed about fourteen hours of our lives and we’re all the better for it, let’s just say there’s no shame in our binge watching game. If you’ve watched The White Lotus then you know there’s lots of unnecessary (and unhinged) drama, countless quote worthy Jennifer Coolidge moments and of course a multitude of amazing fashion moments.
No spoiler alerts here, except for the fact that Harper Spiller who is played by Aubrey Plaza in season two of The White Lotus, has probably the best, most effortlessly chic vacation style we have yet to see in the series. From her seaside style to simple yet effectively sexy dinner dresses, we were absolutely in love with her style in this series and wanted to recreate some of that Sicilian beach-y style for ourselves. The only difference is, we have a certain budget in mind for this and it’s not really in line with an HBO sized bank account. Mission accepted, we decided to recreate some of Harper’s best looks on our own and each of them come under $150.
Our first look we wanted to recreate from Harper was this chic white, button down, long sleeved dress. We loved the lightness it has to it and we think it would be a great addition to our soon-to-be summer vacation wardrobe. It’s a great dress to wear to breakfast or brunch or even as our first day outfit after we unpack at the hotel and head out to explore our new home for the next several days.
We found this Dokotoo Women’s Casual Summer Wrap Maxi Dress to have a similar vibe to Harper’s dress; they both have similar buttons and are long sleeve options but this one is a bit longer and not as form fitting as the one she wears at The White Lotus but it’s only $40 and still very stylish. We also found this Women’s Long Sleeve Lace Up Line Dress from Zaful which is a steal at $30 and has a similar silhouette and sleeves to Harper’s dress but instead of buttons this dress has a corset tie at the waist that gives a similar shape.
We were absolutely obsessed with all of the relaxed linen shirts that Harper wore while on her eventful vacation. Shirts like this blue striped one shown here and a salmon colored one Harper wore towards the end of her stay were so simple but really chic in their understatedness. We found this Allegra K Striped Button Down Roll Up Sleeve Shirt to be a good dupe for Harper’s blue striped shirt. These stripes appear to be skinnier and more frequent, but we love the soft blue and the relaxed fit.
We also thought this Casual Button Down Shirt from JMIER to be another strong replication of Harper’s blue shirt. This choice is a men’s option but we really like the oversized fit much like Harper’s and the wider blue stripes. The great thing about both of these options is that they’re both under $40 so why not go ahead and get yourself both?
Finally, we had to recreate that look that Harper wore when she took her day trip to Noto with Daphne. Harper wears a short sleeve dress that’s simply cinched at the waist with a chic neck tie, the epitome of Italian vacation style and we think the most stylish moment in all of season two of The White Lotus. We found this Floerns Summer Drawstring Dress to be a worthy nod to Harper’s dress with its powder blue tone and babydoll dress vibe. We think this $32 dress is an excellent option but we also like this Hocuos Long Lantern Sleeve Dress as well because of its waist tie and flirtatious v-neckline which is much like the one Harper wears in the show, plus, it’s a steal at only $40.
So, how did we do? Do you think we paid Harper her due diligence with these recreated looks? Did we get ahead of ourselves thinking we could be so chic as her? Have you even watched The White Lotus? If not, go watch and let us know how we did. Happy binging!
