Mother Denim
Levi Strauss was long the top brand to shop for denim and still to this day their coveted classic styles like the 501 jean is much sought after. In the 90s Calvin Klein took the denim world by storm with its provocative ads featuring Brooke Shields and Cindy Crawford. However when we talk about denim today, or shall we say the last 13 years, we can’t talk about denim without mentioning Mother. Since 2010, Mother has solidified itself as a playful and edgy, modern day brand that blends classic silhouettes and contemporary twists on all of its products but mainly its jeans. What we love about this brand is that their denim choices are stylish but they don’t compromise comfort and each product and style is made from premium fabrics allowing the perfect amount of stretch. When we wear our Mother denim, we don’t have to worry about changing our outfit from day to night because these are great transitional pieces that can go from casual day dates to chic city nights out with just a change of shoes, accessories or even a change of belt.
With a diverse range of styles that go from distressed to tailored, Mother denim allows us to express our personal style in numerous ways. Individuality and self-expression are two words that come to mind when we shop this brand and we definitely lean into our more edgy and rebellious spirit when we’re wearing our Mother jeans. One of our favorite go-to styles is The Tomcat Fray jean.
It’s one of the brands most shopped styles and for good reason. It’s a no-fuss high rise, straight leg jean that we like to pair with a pair of leather ankle boots for a dressed up look or some slouch socks and our favorite pair of sneakers. This option comes in black or a light wash denim and we prefer the latter for everyday wear and the black option for a more chic, elevated look. Each style has a slightly frayed ankle for a distressed, edgy look.
Our second go-to style is the Enchanter Heel High Rise Wide Jeans. This high-waisted, wide leg jean is definitely our most worn during the winter. The main reason being it pairs perfectly with our boots and looks ultra chic with our cropped sweaters and oversized coats and scarves.
It’s a versatile style with a nod to 70s style denim and perfectly blends comfort and style that’s perfect for the modern fashion enthusiast.
