Faux Leather Love
Leather is just one of those materials that can truly transform any look. Whether it’s a leather jacket, skirt, boots or even a simple leather belt, leather adds a certain little something when done right and can easily go into overkill if we’re not careful. We want to share with you some of our favorite leather (faux leather, that is) pieces and how you can easily style them yourself and most likely with pieces you already own in your closet.
The Leather Pant
Remember that episode of Friends when Ross had those leather pants? Yeah, we want to avoid that altogether. Rather leather pants are meant to be the focus, the focal point of an outfit so that means when choosing to wear leather pants go easy on the rest of your outfit. Don’t go big, go easy and go simple. Now we also want to take into consideration the cut and silhouette of the leather pants. These BlankNYC Faux Leather Pull-On Pants are a high-waist and wide leg style, so you might consider choosing an easy white tee or even a bodysuit that can be worn under the pants and accentuate that figure of yours. Then there are these Colton Faux Leather Track Pants from Anine Bing. These are a cropped relaxed fit that are super edgy and ultimate cool-girl style. The crop of these would pair great with a statement shoe since they are ankle length and could really give your shoes a moment to shine without taking away from these awesome leather pants.

The Leather Skirt and Short
It’s so fun to have options isn’t it? It’s also fun that we have leather shorts and miniskirts as options so even in the summer we can enjoy the edgy, chic and cool material that is faux leather and the ways to style these two are practically endless but here’s how we’re doing it this summer. These Free People Lita Faux Leather Shorts are great because they can be so versatile. During the day you can throw on a linen top, some white trainers and some oversized sunnies and call it a day. Or, for a sexy evening look try a pair of wedge espadrilles and a cropped bralette under a sheer button up and layer some of your favorite jewelry for a contemporary vibe. Same for a leather skirt, only we think a leather skirt is a bit more flirtatious if you will because you’re going to be showing off a bit more leg, that’s why we love this BB Dakota x Steve Madden Basel Faux Leather Miniskirt. It’s mid rise and falls about half way up the thigh. You can still dress this down though and offset this sexy piece by wearing your favorite band tee and some combat boots or even a pair of loafers. These two items are so versatile and definitely worth owning at least one of the two.

The Brown Leather
Surprise! Leather doesn’t always have to be black, but we’re sure you knew that already and if you didn’t you do now. Often leather is known as that edgy, dark and rock ‘n’ roll cousin to denim but it doesn’t always have to be that’s why we love to switch it up and wear brown leather. It’s lighter and more casual but guess what - it is so versatile and will probably match with whatever you have in your closet right now. We love this idea of a brown faux leather monochromatic look with the Levi’s Faux Leather Moto Jacket and these Alice & Olivia Pete Faux Leather Joggers. Also, remember that rule that black and brown don’t match? Perhaps your mother or nosey great aunt instilled that in you but we’re here to say: false! Because we love to wear this look with a pair of black combat boots and a simple white shirt and strut our stuff knowing we look amazing.

What do you think? Leather in the summer for you or are you still not sold on this incredibly versatile material? Sound off in the comments with your thoughts and questions and what you’d like to see more of in our little chats. Until next time.
