Color Of The Month: Green
Usually when it’s this time of year we gravitate towards colors like black and brown and of course neutrals. We have even written entire articles on these colors and how to style them this winter. This time, we decided to step out of our comfort zone and now we’re encouraging you to do the same thing. This month we decided to explore the color green and all that it has to offer.
When we considered this color to style as our color of the month, we weren’t thinking head-to-toe green in all of its neon entirety. No. We are thinking more of accent pieces and accessories and pairing this color in addition to those blacks, browns and neutrals we mentioned before. Now of course, if you’re very brave and we know a few of you are very dariing when it comes to your personal style, we’ve got something on this list for you as well if you’re considering stylinga head-to-toe green look.
Mint, sage and evergreen are some of our favorite shades of green because they aren’t as punchy and can easily be styled with other pieces in our closet. Green has such a wide variety of shades that can complement any skin tone and hair color, which is why we think it is so worthy for our “color of the month” this November. So, read on with anticipation and let us know at the end what you think of our selection for all things green this month.
When it comes to footwear, styling the color green can be intimidating and let’s be honest there aren’t that many pairs of shoes out there in flattering shades of green. However, these Aquazzura So Matignon Booties come in beautiful ombre green pattern. Starting at the top of the boot with a light, mint green shade and gradually blending into a dark forest green, these boots are not only green but they mark multiple shades of green in a very chic and understated manner. We also like this velvet pair of dark green ballet flats also from Aquazzura. The Bow Tie Ballet Flat in English Green is chic, flirty and elegant. The perfect shoe for all of your holiday party needs.
As we mentioned, adding subtle green accessories to your look is an easy way to hop on this color trend, but that doesn’t mean your accessories themselves have to be subtle. This pair of Oscar de la Renta Rivoli Hoop Earrings combine vibrant peridot stone crystals housed in vintage gold hardware. Perfect for elevating any look that just feels too “basic.” We also like this Sergio Hudson Signature Belt in the color Grass. This belt is quite literally the perfect shade of green grass and with it’s round golden belt hoop we’re channeling 70s vibes for sure with this essential accessory.
If you’re bold (and brave) enough then as we said before, you may want to go all out and go all green. If an all-green outfit is what you’re after then try pairing this Belted Safari Jacket with this Drape Wrap Effect Midi Skirt both from Sergio Hudson. Be warned, this shade of green isn’t for the timid and you’re sure to stand out with this jacket and skirt combo, but fear not, you’ll stick out in the most fabulous of ways. For a more subtle approach to the all green look, but it’s really not so subtle at all, this Peter Dundas Ravel Lime Mini Dress is 100% glam but with a more earthy tone interpretation of the color green. An ideal dress for this festive season.
Of course, we can’t forget a fabulously chic bag to complete this list. This YSL Pre-Loved Metallic Green Chevron Envelope Wallet On Chain can be deceiving at first glance by appearing to be blue, but in fact when the light hits this bag just right, it’s a beautiful shade of mint green. We also like this Oscar de la Renta O Pochette. It’s a deeper, perhaps more “true” shade of green but the sleep monogram “O” in gold and the thin matching chain complement each other nicely and we’re betting it complements our other items on this list as well. So, green with envy yet?
