Bridesmaid Bingo
First you want to consider the time of your wedding, if it’s a spring or summer or fall wedding, that’s a great way to start thinking about the color palette of your bridesmaid dresses. Pastels and tropical shades are great for warmer weather, and deep romantic jewel tones are more than acceptable for winter and autumn. You can easily create a light and dreamy atmosphere or a cozy and romantic vibe. You also want to take into consideration accent colors as well that will pair well with your chosen palette.
You could also take a new modern approach and let your party choose their own dress as long as they adhere to the same color and fabric. Now you're able to take some stress off of yourself and also know that all body types and shapes are going to feel pretty in their chosen gown. When it comes to accessories, we think going with a more subtle approach is best. What does that look like? Perhaps in addition to their bouquets they add a matching shoe in the same shade of dress and a simple bracelet for a subtle sparkle. Remember, it’s the bride’s day so we want to complement her, not upstage her.
This year we expect to see a lot of sky blue and navy gradients for the bridal party. Light blue blending into dark navy is a great contrast and would be lovely for ceremonies on the beach or hey, even a nautical theme wedding. As autumn is already here we also think lilac and plum tones are a great choice or even paired together would be stunning. Autumn is transitioning into winter here sooner than expected and is a romantic option for either season. Our favorite shades for bridesmaids dresses have to be champagne or even mauve. They’re both classic, sophisticated and timeless shades that will be flattering in wedding photos decades later. Just remember this good rule of thumb: consider body size, skinny tone and how the dresses will not only photograph but how they make your besties feel confident that day.
