3 Ways To Freshen Your Space
It feels natural that as the seasons change, we want to change our environment as well. The issue is we don’t really have the time to do a complete overhaul of our space every six months. So how do we easily freshen up our homes when we don’t have a lot of time, energy or even budget? We have three easy tips and tricks that will quickly turn your space, no matter how big or small, into an instantly fresher atmosphere and it’s just in time for summer.
1. Smellslike...
One of the easiest ways to freshen up your place is to literally “freshen” it up. Investing in a cohesive summer scent that wakes you up and energizes you is going to make your living surroundings seem perkier and as a result fresher. We love scents such as eucalyptus, lavender, orange zest and fresh linen and we like to add candles, diffuser sticks and oils to easily do this. During the day keep your windows open to allow the scent to really circulate your home as well.
2. Lookslike...
A little DIY never hurt anyone and often it’s the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to change your space. That mirror frame that’s drab and basic? Those dresser handles that were passed down from grandma? The floor lamp that stands next to your desk? These items can all easily be taken from drab to fab in a few quick hours by simply grabbing a can of spray paint and giving them new life. We like to take note of what our hardware and accent colors are in our home and give a few coats of that color to these small details to make our space feel cohesive and elevated.
3. Feelslike...
Our third tip is all about the sensation of touch. What fabrics feel good to you and how do you want to feel them? Perhaps a cashmere or wool blend thrown over the couch or your favorite reading chair makes you feel at home and relaxed. A new set of sheets and linen duvet cover keeps you cool on those hot summer nights and maybe indulging in that sheepskin rug is what you need to feel under your feet every morning when you wake up. Adding these easy touches and accents to your place make it feel and look more lived in and more like “home.” Which of these tips will you be trying out in your space? Let us know.
