20 Minute Morning Skincare Routine
As the days are short it seems like we have less time in the day to complete every task and errand we need to get done. Family, work and prepping for the last approaching holiday leaves us less time for ourselves. Less time to check in with ourselves in the morning before we jet out and begin our day. With that being said, our morning routine is sacred and we must honor it but this doesn’t mean that we have to spend 45 minutes to an hour on our skincare regimen. In fact, we don’t even want to spend 30 minutes. How does a 20 minute morning routine sound? Even better, how does a 20 minute routine that won’t sacrifice the care your skin needs? Don’t think it's possible? We’re here to prove you wrong.
Let's get right into it because we don’t have a lot of time to work with, remember? So, we’ll get straight to the point and save us both some time. First, we’re reaching for our La Mer Cleansing foam we ordered straight from the Neiman’s website. Think this will cost you a pretty penny? Think again. This foam creates a rich lather that purifies delicate skin (thanks to you winter), and leaves your complexion clean, energized and looking healthy. All of this and La Mer’s reputation for only $25. Now that we have our clean base we can move on to our toner.
The Sisley-Paris Botanical Floral Toning Lotion is just the toner we need for the cold, bitter and dry winter months. Since this toner has a lotion consistency it leaves your skin soft, supple and soothed and preps our skin for the next steps in our routine. This product has a 5 out of 5 star rating on Neiman’s website and we have to admit we are one of those reviews. Some key ingredients in this product are rose, cornflower and witch hazel extracts. It's simple, to the point but goes above and beyond where quality is concerned. Next, we’re grabbing our Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum. We like to use this miracle worker to penetrate deep into our skin to replenish our skin’s moisture preserves. Pressing a few drops into our skin and neck we can instantly see this product's effects. It takes thirty seconds for this item to be absorbed and our skin is instantly brightened while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and leaving our face ready for sun exposure, heat, cold and any other harmful environments your skin may encounter.
Okay, are you keeping a timer on this thing? We’ve still got a few more minutes so let's take this routine across the finish line with none other than the most essential ingredient in this recipe for healthy glowing skin: sunscreen. Sunscreen is probably the most important player in our skincare so we trust the one and only Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. It delivers what it claims in the name. We hate nothing more than that white residue so many SPFs seem to leave behind, but the Supergoop SPF 40 is totally invisible, weightless and scent-free and provides maximum protection that will last all day. Always apply SPF as the last step in your skincare routine but before you apply makeup. Fun fact this SPF also protects from the blue light from our phones and laptops. Finally, we don’t want to forget about our lips. We use the Sugar Lip Polish Exfoliant and put a smidge between our lips and massage this shea butter, jojoba oil infused scrub until our lips are smooth as silk. We don’t want to leave them naked and unprotected so the Boscia Cherry Blossom Lip Repair sums up our regimen this morning. This balm will leave your lips soft, plump and nourished while resurfacing your lips sensitive skin. We like to wear it alone as well as under our lipstick and reapply as needed throughout the day.

Whew! We’re calling “time!” on this one. We even think we finished this morning skincare routine with a few minutes left to spare. With that spare time we like to look ourselves in the mirror and practice some positive affirmations to send us out into the day not only looking amazing but feeling just as great on the inside as well. Repeat after us, “I am in charge of how I feel today and I am choosing happiness.” That felt good. Now go, be productive knowing you’ve given your skin the best possible care in the shortest amount of time possible.
