To start this is one trend that you really have to go all the way on. There’s no halving your way through this one and mincing your accessories, shall we say. However, we have some tips to get you started and put you on the right path and the first tip we have is accessories. Sculptural silhouettes of sunglasses and chunky space inspired rings and earrings are just some of the easier ways to ease into this trend of dressing weird. Have fun with bold colors and bulky shapes and the rule of thumb is the more strange and uncomfortable the better.
Next, have fun with mixing and matching. Not just with colors but especially with shapes and sizes that don’t usually make sense. When paired together in this eclectic way it actually does make sense and becomes a solid fire look. Shopping retro styles is an easy way to achieve this and searching for bulky vintage pieces like an oversized leather trench and pairing it with a bonnet style hat and cowboy boots...well you get the idea (and the image).
Lastly, know your own personal style and do some exploring. Think about all of the times you went window shopping and saw something and thought, there’s now way I could pull that off, think again! In this trend you can literally pull anything off regardless of age, size, etc. Think about the variety of ways you express yourself. Remember that goth phase? The cottage core phase?
