Whether You Want Me Or Not
People often use the metaphor of a flower blooming to illustrate how we each come into our own. Sitting in my yard and observing how the weeds are now finding their way back into my garden has me thinking that it’s actually better to be compared to them instead. I think that besides the fact that weeds thrive off of the nutrients meant for my roses, that they are actually something to be admired. They don’t give up for one, and they are resilient in any environment. Think about how many times you’ve seen a weed sprouting through the cracks in the pavement...it’s amazing isn’t it? To be that tough and sure of yourself that you say I’m here and growing whether you want me to or not. Sorry roses, weeds won this one.
