Trends Spotted At NYFW 2023
Welcome to your front row seat to New York Fashion Week. The city that never sleeps has once again set the stage for the most anticipated event in the industry and as the “glitterati '' from all over the world flaked to see the latest designs, we flocked to our Instagram to see what everyone was wearing. From the avant-garde designs that challenge conventions to the timeless classics that continue to captivate, New York Fashion Week 2023 was a whirlwind of creativity and innovation. And even though we were cuddled up on the couch and clutching our iPhone we picked up on a couple trends we just couldn't ignore and can’t wait to wear ourselves.
It seems our prediction earlier this year about summer trends was on point. September is still kinda summer, right? Even though it was allegedly sweltering this NYFW, we saw celebrities, models and influencers alike wearing floor sweeping gowns paired with our favorite suede boots, elevated kicks and even saw one attendee sporting ballet flats and leg warmers with hers. Designers like Sandy Liang seemed to have perfected this feminine silhouette and featured sexy off the shoulder gowns and that trendy “wet dress” style as well. It just goes to show our original sentiment regarding maxi dresses stands true: these versatile dresses are great for casual and elegant styling and are a must-have in any fashion-philes wardrobe.
Our second trend is a bit more specific but just as chic and that’s our observation of the pointed toe kitten heel that seemed to be photographed on IG stories and feeds of so many. Blogger Aimee Song is known for her fabulous footwear choices and she posted herself wearing a pair of Prada kitten heels and from there on they seemed to be everywhere.
The kitten heel is usually a dainty and charming choice of heel but when you add in that pointed toe silhouette they instantly become a chic fashion statement that exudes timeless elegance with a slight edginess. These are our two favorite trends we’ve seen this Fashion Week but be prepared because the posts are still pouring in and we’re eager to report.
