Three Basics In Our Gym Bag
We are very aware that during these trying times, it's been a true effort when it comes to being active. It’s not as easy as it was to simply head to the gym for an hour workout; we’ve had to get creative and resourceful. Perhaps you’ve subscribed to an online HIIT workout channel, or a celebrity fitness guru’s Instagram workout plan. Maybe you’re like us and enjoy yoga in the park every Tuesday and SoulCycle three times a week. Whatever active release you may have found, we can still guarantee that you have a gym bag or at least a gym “space,” where you keep your weights and resistance bands alike. Generally, we’ve found that the “gym bag” is pretty chaotic, meaning it can accumulate items and things we don’t really need or we don’t use. Enter us, Style Sonata to share with you three items every woman should have in her gym bag.
1. The Bag
It only makes sense to begin with the bag itself. The Landon Neoprene Duffle Bag from Dagne Dover is hands down the best gym bag. The size of this duffle isn’t too large and bulky that it takes up a lot of space but it’s just right to fit all of your necessities. The Landon Duffle comes in seven different colors as well as a mesh pouch, a laptop sleeve, a key leash and a removable laundry/shoe bag. It’s perfect for storing your water bottle, laptop, gym clothes, shoes and yes, even your protective face mask. We’ve even purchased this same tote in the shade “onyx” to use as our carry-on on that glorious day when travel is possible again.
2. The Water Bottle
The water bottle is such a neglected item when it comes to packing a bag for the gym. We feel like it's such an opportunity to really show your personality but in reality it's usually an afterthought. Like most of the world, we of course use a refillable water canteen to cut down on plastic use, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a chic water bottle to go with our outfit or gym bag.The20oz Slim Insulated Storage Bottle from Bindle is not only cute in six different shades but it's also extremely unique in that it has storage at the bottom of the bottle for things like keys, AirPods and even your credit card. It's ideal for those classes such as SoulCycle or yoga in the park where you just want to bring your keys, headphones and water bottle as opposed to bringing your purse or worry about things falling out of your pocket. This water bottle is a game changer.
3. The Gym Towel & Cleansing Wipes
After a good workout we’re bound to be a bit, well, moist. Chances are we don’t want to sit in our own sweat for the drive home or perhaps we have to hit the supermarket on the way, whatever the situation a towel and cleansing towelettes are a must. We always make sure we have a cotton hand towel fresh and folded in the bottom of our bag and Clinique’s“Take the Day Off ”Micellar Towelettes at the ready for convenient cleansing after a brutal workout.
The rest is up to you, but these are the essentials we must keep on hand in our gym bag at all times whether it's in our car or in the back of our closets. Perhaps some of you may keep a travel hair straightener, or a foam roller and whereas we agree there are plenty of other vital components to the gym bag, we had to get you started with these three we absolutely cannot live without. What’s in your gym bag?
