The Perfect New Year’s Eve Look
It’s the one day besides Halloween, that has everyone in a tizzy trying to figure out what to wear. Yes, New Year’s Eve. For us, we always lose track of time between the holidays and the new year. It’s like those five days are a blur and time doesn’t apply to anyone and then before you know it your friends are texting you that they’re at your door and ready to ring in the new year. Only problem is, you don’t have anything to wear. Well, that’s where we come in. We thought it would be smart to give you some of our recommendations for New Year’s looks so you can be prepared in advance with a few options to choose from instead of stressing the day-of to try and put together a fabulous and unforgettable outfit.
For New Year’s Eve, it’s typically a night where the dresses come out. And we really do like to go all out and go for that traditional glitz and glam that’s associated with this night. So naturally our first option we present to you is this Twisted Front Sequin Mini Dress from Peter Dundas. It’s very old Hollywood and we are obsessed with how sparkly this mini dress is.If you’re spending the night at home but still want to feel glamorous then this Adriana Degreas Solid Long Dress With Knot is what you should be shopping for. This dramatic dress is almost like a robe but it’s practically sheer so we suggest layering it over a silk slip or maxi slip dress. However, whether you’re counting down the new year with friends at home or just enjoying a quiet solo night, this is a fabulous choice either way.
Want to give the Times Square ball drop a run for her money? This Oscar de la Renta Sequin Embroidered Cocktail Dress should get the job done. This dress is covered in light-catching sequin embroidery and sequin feather trim that could potentially blind anyone and everyone who catches a glimpse of you in this stunning mini dress. But hey, at least they’d have that last look of you as a memory, right? This is the epitome of NYE dresses, hands down. When in doubt, always go for the classic LBD. The little black dress is a staple for a reason people. It’s classic, it’s subtle but it’s still sexy and you can literally never go wrong. This V-Neck Tank Dress from Oscar de la Renta has peek-a-boo cut in the back and a deep “V” neckline. It has a figure hugging and body contouring silhouette that hugs your curves in all the right places and looks great on each and any body type. In our opinion, this is a tried and true classic that will stun at any NYE event.
Shoes are just as important when it comes to the dress for New Year’s Eve and we want to continue our all-out approach all the way down to our toes. We love these Cha Cha Cha Crystal Sandals from Aquazzura because they kind of remind us of that fabulous sequin Oscar de la Renta number we mentioned above. This strappy stiletto sandal is adorned with miniature crystal droplets that remind us of tiny disco balls perfect for a night of dancing under shimmering lights. If you’re looking for something a bit more classic and understated then this pair of Alexandre Birman Clarita 75 is the perfect pump. A simple stiletto heel made from soft leather with a bow-tie detailing on the toe is a great option that would go great with any of our dress suggestions made above. Finally, our favorite for this footwear list is this Giuseppe Zanotti Adele Crystal Sandal. It’s a great combination and compromise of our previous two options with it being a classic leather stiletto pump with crystal adornments along the heel and along the ankle strap as well.
Any of these dresses hold your attention? Don’t think too long about it, pick your dress, pick your shoes and find someone to share that New Year’s kiss with because it’ll be here before you know it.
Happy New Year from all of us at Style Sonata!
