Sunglasses For Winter

What’s the easiest way to look cool all year round? The answer is right in front of your eyes, literally. We think that one of the most overlooked and often forgotten accessories is eyewear. We often leave the house always forgetting to grab our glasses or we leave them in our purse and never put them on to complete our look. Well that all stops today because we’ve got some killer eyewear that you won’t be able to take off all winter.

Choosing a pair of sunglasses can seem daunting. There’s a lot to consider after all. You have to take into consideration your facial shape; are you an oval, round or square facial shape? You have to consider frame size. Are you more of an oversized frame or skinny frame? You have to choose your lens color and we all know that those are infinite and often impossible to choose because they all look so good with different outfits and moods. Then you have to decide the actual lens shape itself. Do you look better with a round lens or a square lens or a rectangle lens or even an octagonal lens (?)

Okay we’re not so sure about that last one, but we’re sure it exists. So, what is the biggest sunglasses trend this year? This season? By our accounts it seems that the trend made popular in 2021 is here to stay. The skinny, rectangle sunglasses reign supreme but that’s never stopped us from roaming outside of the trend cycle and finding pieces that we think are chic and make us feel good.

Cat-Eye

So with that being said, our first pair of sunglasses are these Kate Spade New York Cat-Eye Sunglasses. They have a tortoise shell patterned rim and a super fun, super retro cat-eye shape that breaks all industry standards of what “trendy” means.

Square Oversized

These Michael Kors Isle of Palms Square Sunglasses are super oversized and feature a sharp, square angular shape that reminds us of those early 2000s lenses but with a modern sophisticated twist.

Oval Shape

This pair of Ray Ban Women’s Beat Sunglasses fulfills all of our John Lennon lens envy. These gold wire framed oval glasses feature a lighter, brown lens color to complement their frame.

Thick Rectangle Lens

You can always expect Gucci to go big or go home and they don’t disappoint with these Gucci Women’s Matelassee 90s Sunglasses. The frame: chunky. The lens: rectangle. The logo: big. What else could we ask for?

Classic Square

What’s more classic than Ray Ban? When it comes to achieving that effortless, cool girl California style you can’t go wrong with the classic Ray Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses. This pair is unisex, so go ahead and get a pair for yourself and that special guy in your life.

The Y2K

Since Y2K is still a trend that’s, well, trending, we had to include these Ray Ban Shield Sunglasses. It’s channeling “Jenny From The Block” a la classic J. Lo style with the shield lens shape and rose gold color.

The Octagon

And here we thought the octagonal lens shape didn’t exist. We were wrong and happy to be mistaken because these Prada Black Plastic Geometric Sunglasses feature a far out frame shape and gray gradient lens with their classic logo on the side.

So, by now you should know your face shape, frame shape and size as well as your ideal lens color for your new pair of shades. Which ones are you picking up for this winter? Personally, we like the octagonal Pradas and the classic square Ray Bans. You can never have too many pairs of sunglasses after all...right?
