How To Style A Summer Wardrobe In The Winter
Who doesn’t want to revamp their whole wardrobe anytime the seasons change? We sure would, but it’s not always possible. What if there was a way to just repurpose our summer wardrobe into a magical winter wardrobe? Well, we think there is and your wish is our command. At first glance it may not seem like our shorts, skirts and sandals can suddenly become appropriate for the colder months, but with some additions and altering here and there, you can actually style much of your summer clothing in ways that are functional and fashionable for the winter.
Let’s take footwear for example. Yes, we love to shop for boots in the winter but we’re taking a cue from streetwear fanatics and actually styling our slide sandals this winter. Take these Unisex Birkenstock Arizona Soft Footbed Sandals and pair them with a thick winter wool sock and you’ve got a great stylish option for footwear to throw on as you run around town completing all of your holiday errands. We also love these Coach Udele Slides for their sporty silhouette and the Coach logo pattern. We’re styling these with a pair of these UGG Women’s Rib Knit Slouchy Crew Socks for optimum warmth while achieving maximum cozy style.
Now, for all of you who were keen on wearing skirts and dresses this last summer. You still can! Fun summer style doesn’t have to be shut away as soon as September ends, rather we are still embracing summer style all year round. Adding a pair of tights or leggings under your skirt or dress is a great way to make sure you stay warm during the winter and you can have fun with it too and really make it a whole new look. These NexiEpoch Fleece Lined Legging are a great choice if your main goal is to keep warm. These leggings are lightweight but durable and their interior is lined with fleece to really seal in your body’s heat to keep you warm and toasty. Now what we would suggest is to have some fun and pair leggings with a pattern or texture to layer under your dresses or skirts to add some flare. These Tagoo Leather Leggings would look great layered under a denim skirt or even a black midi or maxi dress. Try pairing these Free Leaper Leopard Yoga Pants or these Spanx Look At Me Now Camo Leggings under a patterned dress for a fun mix and match vibe.
Pairing a skirt or a dress with leggings can also give a more casual, free spirited kind of vibe to your look and that’s not what some of you are into. We can totally respect that. Another great way to add warmth to your summer-turned-winter look is to add tights. TIghts are generally thinner than leggings so maximum warmth isn’t always achieved but they do add a chic and refined energy to your outfit. For a basic black control top tight we recommend these HAWA Black Tights because you get three pairs and we find they actually lasted us a few uses and a few washes before ripping or tearing. We also
like these Mitid Fleece Lined Tights which are a great alternative to the fleece lined legging we mentioned above but they just aren’t as thick and provide a sleeker look. Finally, we had to include some funky patterned tights and these Fishnet Hollowed Out Knitted Patterned Stockings from Surbepo come in forty three different shades and patterns and are more fashion focused than functional. However, these tights will provide some coverage to your legs and a little something extra to your look. Socks, leggings and tights. Who knew that’s all it took to transition your summer wardrobe into a winter one? Let us know which of these tips you’ll be using this winter and any tips that we’re missing out on and in the time being, try your best to keep warm.
