One Bag, Three Ways
Our summer purse rotation is on point this summer. From crossbody bags to oversized totes, we’ve got a purse for every day of the week this season. Our bag this week? The classic saddle bag or also known as the belt bag. For reference, think of Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic Gucci belt bag with the iconic brands logo in canvas and belt and leather detailing in navy blue. This style of bag usually features two front pockets and a long zipper pocket in the back which makes this unsuspecting purse full of storage in a hands free fashion. Here’s three ways we’re styling it this summer.
Our first and probably most styled look is chic and casual. We love to style our saddle bag with a classic white shirt, relaxed light wash boyfriend jeans, and a tailored blazer. The bag becomes the focal point of our outfit by keeping it simple and neutral. Finish off the look with a pair of white sneakers or ankle boots for a stylish touch. Our second go-to way to style this iconic bag is a bit more elevated and a bit more, shall we say, glam? We like to pair a chic little black dress and a pair of sexy strappy heels and cinch our waist with our saddle bag. It’s an unexpected pairing but it’s giving Carrie vibes in the best way possible.
Finally, we love a boho chic moment and this saddle bag style of bag is a key player in this final look. For this look we’re wearing our saddle bag as a crossbody by simply extending the straps and layering it diagonally over our chest or back over a flowing maxi dress, faded oversized denim jacket and our favorite pair of suede leather boots.
