Holiday Party styling Tips

As the holiday season rapidly approaches, so do the traditional holiday parties. Whether it’s an office party, family gathering or a friendly get together to enjoy spiked eggnog and cheesy holiday movies, you’re going to want to look your best. That’s where we come in. We’ve got some great holiday party styling tips we thought we’d share with you that could prove useful when deciding what to wear to your next holiday party.

First, we really like to lean into the holiday spirit. What does that look like exactly? When we think of holiday outfits we think of rich reds and deep greens, glitter and sparkles, you know basically all things that dazzle just like the lights on the Christmas tree or the flames on the menorah. Of course, we want to style our holiday outfits in a way that doesn’t come off cheap or costume-y. So choosing outfit elements that play with those themes and textures are more of a guidance system and not really a rule-of-thumb.

We really like this Peter Dundas Meteor Black Mini Dress. It’s a retro cutout dress that’s embezzled with glass beads and metallic fibers that challenge the traditional idea of a sparkly holiday dress. It’s black with clear crystal embroidery and latex mirror accents, so it still gives us that holiday glam but in an unexpected way. We think it’s a more contemporary approach to the glittery holiday dress. Plus, the short silhouette is great for showing off those legs.

For a more casual gathering, say an office holiday party, this Silvia Tcherassi Albarella Dress is a laid back but elegant choice. It has a robe silhouette and is very flouncy and come in this gorgeous mulberry floral jacquard print. It’s waist slimming bow and cascading silhouette is a refreshing feminine take on the holiday dress. It’s almost like you just threw on your silk robe and left the house except in a more appropriate style. It’s certainly flattering for all body types and will leave party guests absolutely stunned.

Every outfit needs a pair of shoes. For the holiday season and all of it’s accompanying parties we have to say that choosing shoes is our favorite part and this year there are so many great options. For starters, we love this pair of Babe Pumps from Aquazzura. They are a kitten heel pump, in a slingback style and come in black satin. However, what makes us obsessed with these pumps is the petite rhinestone bow on the front toe of the shoe. The glistening embellishment is just like star at the top of the Christmas tree but instead it’s on your feet. What’s more holiday spirit than that?

On the other hand, while we love a cute kitten heel, we have our sights set on higher goals. Meaning these Bebe Platforms from Giuseppe Zanotti. These patent leather platforms are a closed toe, traditional chunky platform heel with an ankle strap. We chose this as a holiday shoe option for it’s shiny patent leather material and classic silhouette that’s perfect for pairing with any dress, skirt or even pants for any holiday gathering. We think these heels would pair perfectly with the Peter Dundas dress we mentioned above.

Of course, no holiday outfit is complete without a bit of sparkle. Yes, even more sparkle, we know, but we’re talking jewelry. Every girl’s best friend and it’s like the cherry on top of the cake; no outfit is complete without a bit of accessorizing. Since it’s the holiday season, we’re in the holiday spirit so gold accessories are our new fixation. For hand adornments aka rings, we love this understated Jennifer Meyer 18k Gold Mini Heart Ring. It’s a simple accessory to wear alone or it’s also great for layering with other rings. For earrings we love these classic Mateo New York 14k Gold Baroque Pearl Drop Earrings. Not your typical pearl earrings, these uniquely natural shaped pearls are a fantastic sculptural choice for earrings and their gold studs add a nice holiday feel as well. Saving the best for last, we had to add a bit more extravagance and what better way than with this Oscar de la Renta Comet Necklace. This necklace is an antique gold necklace adorned with glass crystals. It’s like a golden holiday wreath but for your neck and the perfect finishing touch to any holiday party look.
