Flowers, French Cuisine and a Facial
What is Style Sonata up to this week? Well, we’re up to our usual routine of enjoying the finest dining at the hottest, most current restaurants and experiencing all that our city of San Francisco has to offer. Of course, it's not all in vain, after all we do it for the joy of sharing these experiences with all of you and to expose how wonderful our city is when it comes to entertaining, eating and self-care. This week we went for dinner at a chic new French restaurant, picked up some flowers for a friend and ended our weekend with a dynamite facial at our favorite spa. Here’s what we did and what we learned, enjoy!
If you’ve ever travelled to France, then you know they are infamous for their outdoor cafes and restaurants that specialize in speedy service and delicious bites. Now, San Francisco residents and visitors can enjoy that same experience at Routier. Routier was founded by B Patisserie founders Chef JP Carmona, Belinda Leong and Michel Suas. Described as a “frenchish” restaurant, “serving simple and delicious food where the service is prompt and informal.” Located on California St. and Divisadero St., Routier is currently seating customers indoors as well as outdoors and it's recommended to make a reservation beforehand to make sure you experience their delicious meals such as their Steelhead Salmon or their Lobster Grand Aioli. We’ve also tried one of the pre-fixe menu items, the Formule Routier where we were able to try multiple small plates and each one was exquisite. Paired with one of their signature cocktails, we had the ideal French experience. The dress attire for Routier follows a bit of a more posh vibe but to be honest one could get away with a nice pair of sneakers and denim. We wore Rag & Bone Rover Chelsea Boots with these Madewell High Waist Ankle Jeans and felt right at home.
Often when it comes time to celebrate a loved one, we spring for a convenient gift card or certificate but what happened to those thoughtful personal gifts that seem to be a thing of the past? We take joy in going to Fiori Flowers on Chestnut Street here in San Francisco. Hand picking flowers and a vase to make an arrangement, one that's uniquely designed for that special person, is something they will never forget. They will also make nice for an Instagram shout out that will put other gift givers to shame. In our case our dear friend has recently been promoted and we thought that a handcrafted creation from Fiori’s would be the perfect acknowledgement of that. An arrangement consisting of white roses, lilies and hydrangea now rests vibrantly on her new corner office desk. Best part is, we were able to place our order online from the comfort of our own home and pick up our arrangement the next day. We worked with a florist from Fioris’s to design the best arrangement using the seasonal flowers available and it turned out so lovely. Fiori’s is a great solution for a memorable gift for any occasion.
After our week of fine dining and flower arranging, we deserve some “me” time, don’t you think? Bamboo Spa in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco is just the remedy we have in mind. Bamboo Spa offers a wide variety of treatments such as skin care, waxing, nail services and massages. This spa serves both men and women and offers the ultimate Japanese spa experience. On our particular visit we indulged in the Retinol Plus Facial which utilizes the highest concentration of retinol and multiple advanced technologies for enhanced resurfacing and skin refining effects and left us with supple, smooth and hydrated skin. After our facial we decided to get a Sayonara Callus Pedicure and Keratin Waterless Manicure which is perfect for those of us who suffer from chronic dry skin no matter what the weather may be. We also love Bamboo Spa’s gift certificate packages for gifts for family and friends both male and female. Being able to purchase certificate passages for sets of manicures and pedicures ensures all of our loved ones can be just as pampered as we are. What’s better than that?
