Dry, Parched Skin? Not Us!
To help you navigate the winter skincare woes, we've come up with a few easy but very essential tips and key ingredients that will keep your skin moisturized and glowing all season long. With a little extra care and the right products, you can embrace the winter season with confidence and a luminous complexion. What else would you expect from us?
Since our mortal enemy this winter is dry skin which can get so dry to the point of cracking and peeling, our main goal is to stay hydrated. So, yes drinking lots of hydrating fluids is going to be your biggest tool to combat dry skin but you also want super hydrating products as well. Choosing a gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils is a good place to start and if you’re going to tone your skin choose one that replenishes moisture and also balances your skin’s pH levels. So, what are some key ingredients you should be checking labels for? Our favorites are hyaluronic acid, glycerin and ceramides, which all attract but also lock in moisture. We also suggest a moisturizer (duh), but a very rich moisturizer that has ingredients such as jojoba oil, shea butter and aloe vera which are notorious for acting like a protective barrier against the harsh and bitter winter weather.
In case you were wondering, yes, exfoliating is still essential during the winter months. We want to slough away dead skin cells and stimulate new hydrating ones, but always remember to use a gentle exfoliator and to try and exfoliate 2-3 times a week and always follow up with a moisturizer and skin oil such as rosehip or black seed oil which are also great for skin hydration and cell restoration.
