Deliciously Romantic
Sounds too good to be true? It's not! These luscious lipsticks look truly yummy on any skin tone and at any age. You may have heard of some of these shades already whereas others you may be surprised to see on this list. Our favorite celebrities, models and makeup artists swear by them and we even tried them ourselves and the proof is in the formula, color and wearability. See for yourself and let us know what you think.
Pillow Talk from the makeup genius Charlotte Tilbury shouldn’t be too much of a surprise here. This shade of lipstick has gained the reputation for being a makeup essential in so many women’s makeup bags and for being known as the most universally flattering shade. This matte, long wearing, and buildable lipstick is best paired with the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner to create the appearance of wider, fuller lips. This lipstick feels so good on your lips and hydrates them while you’re wearing this product which is no surprise because it contains Tilbury’s secret ingredient as well as orchid extract to create this lipstick’s sheen and silky consistency. If you want to elevate your look even more we recommend swiping some of Charlotte Tilbury’s Collagen Lip Gloss over your lipstick for some added shine.
Another crowd favorite, MAC Ruby Woo has truly stood the test of time and continues to prove to be a flattering shade for everyone who wears it. MAC describes this lipstick as “a vivid red with blue undertones” and makeup artists say it's the “little black dress of lipsticks,” and we agree. Basically Ruby Woo does exactly what a LBD does for women, it's versatile, can be styled in so many ways and you just can’t go wrong with it. Ruby Woo feels like the updated, more contemporary version of the classic red lipstick and we feel like we could wear this shade of red everyday whether it's to work, the grocery store or a night of drinks with the girls. We don’t need to switch our lipstick from place to place but rather re-apply our Ruby Woo and we’re good to go.
1993
Our third and final contender is Urban Decay 1993. This is another universal shade that we absolutely love and we definitely saved the best for last. This is a good shade for those of you that are looking for a more neutral lipstick that you can wear everyday. This shade 1993, gives very much 90’s vibes. It feels a little grunge due to the muted brown shade and makes us feel like we’re channeling our inner Kate Moss circa the mid-90s.
We love this lipstick because it not only reminds us of Rachel Green from Friends, but it's also longwear, feels soft on the lips and looks great without a lip liner. It’s definitely more of a neutral color compared to our previous two contenders, but we all need to have that essential nude color in our makeup bags and this one does it for us. What do you guys think? Are you a Pillow Talk, Ruby Woo or 1993 kind of woman? Maybe you’re all three, let us know in the comments! Until next time.
Sincerely,
Kailyn, The Closet Correspondent
