How to Become an Icon
What’s on your vision board going into this season? Is it a new promotion? Is it lots of cash? Or is it love? Perhaps it’s something you can’t quite put into a visual representation. One thing that we’ve heard a lot from friends is that they want to be more confident. So, the first step is identifying what it is you want out of life and then going after it but how does one go about obtaining something like confidence? Is it really that easy to just wake up one day and be the most confident person on the planet? Or at least on your block? What is confidence and how can we work on being confident every day? We have a few helpful insights.
First let's talk about affirmations. Affirmations are positive phrases you tell yourself each day to retrain your subconscious into thinking you are confident and that will then manifest outwardly. Some examples are: I am the most beautiful woman on the planet. I believe in myself and my abilities. There is no one else like me. We’re sure you’re wondering, how can I say these and I don’t believe them? That’s the beautiful thing, you don’t have to believe them. Say them enough each day and eventually you will. The feeling of confidence will follow and will show up in the 3-D.
Next, fake it until you make it. Look at someone you admire. Maybe they’re a family member, a friend or even a celebrity who has qualities that you wish you had. You probably already have them too but you want to make them more prominent. Take these people, these traits and go out into the world acting like them or that you have these traits. Why not? We all have the power to change our realities and our lives at any moment, that’s the beautiful thing about this life. You want to have more confidence? Then go out into the world knowing that you are special, you are wanted and nothing can stop you. It may feel strange at first, but change always does but the more you act like it, the more it will cement into reality.
Last tip: avoid negative inner dialogue. Your thoughts create your reality and what you believe in your mind to be true will show up in your life. So, if your thoughts are: I’m not good enough. Nobody likes me. I’m not enough, then that will show in the way that you show up in the world. Be aware of these thoughts and when you notice yourself thinking them, observe how you feel and when you started thinking them. Change them to positive thoughts such as the positive affirmations we mentioned above. It’s hard to imagine that we are all capable of any change we want to make in our lives but if we approach these feats with baby steps combined with an open mind, change can happen sooner than you think. Good luck.
