1. Describe yourself in three words.
Courageous, charismatic and chic.
"LOOKING AT CLOTHES IS MY FAVORITE ACTIVITY. IT'S THE FIRST THING I NOTICE WHEN I FIRST MEET PEOPLE."
2. Tell us a bit about the work you do and why you chose that field.
Looking at clothes is my favorite activity. It’s the first thing I notice when I first meet people. At times, people's outfits can look as though three people put it together: someone does the boots, someone else does the top and a third person throws in an ill-fitting garment. I wanted to use my expertise in fashion to teach people how to amplify their individual style and create well-composed looks. That’s why I chose to start blogging about fashion in 2012 and subsequently work as a fashion stylist for both men and women. Working with amazing brands like Giorgio Armani and Karen Millen, and engaging with clients internationally has been a fulfilling experience.
In the pipelines, is the launch of my own clothing line, which will focus primarily on dresses. I think a fabulous dress can be game-changing for a woman. But, finding that perfect dress can sometimes be a challenge. I want to add to the options out there. My line of dresses is meant to be for the girl whose life is a never-ending adventure. It will feature a minimalist, chic, and classic style with the best quality in fabrics.
3. Any big plans for the rest of 2019?
Yes! Later this year, I will attend a fashion course in the United States. Most importantly, I will be ironing out the details for my new line and giving my own personal branding a little revamp. It is a busy ending to 2019, but I am grateful. I will be ringing in 2020 with a 20/20 vision!
4. What advice would you give to your 15-year-old self?
Learn French, immediately!
5. Best advice you ever received?
Move to Canada
"HAPPINESS IS ... THAT FIRST SIP OF A VANILLA LATTE."
6. Happiness is...?
That first sip of a Vanilla Latte; having moved to one of the most welcoming nations in the world [Canada]; and the arrival of my niece Eva in January 2020.
7. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Dealing with self-centered people and tightwads aka stinja ninjas. Dealing with these kinds of people is like pushing glue up a hill: hard, pointless and messy.
"I LIVE IN DRESSES. I BELIEVE THE BODY SWAYS TO A DIFFERENT KIND OF TEMPO WHEN YOU WEAR A DRESS. "
8. Describe your go-to style.
I live in dresses. I believe the body sways to a different kind of tempo when you wear a dress. It gives a woman an extra dose of glam and it makes you stand out from the crowd. No other item of clothing has a more powerful effect than a dress. When in a dress, the energy you send out to the world is fun, wild and inventive.
9. You feel most beautiful when...?
Speaking multiple languages throughout my day.
"FASHION MEANS THE WORLD...TO ME. IT'S A SOLID EXPRESSION OF WHO WE ARE AND...HOW WE WANT OTHERS TO UNDERSTAND...US."
10. What does fashion mean to you?
I know there are people who think of fashion as superficial and materialistic, but it’s far from that. Fashion means the world and beyond to me. It’s a solid expression of who we are and a statement of how we want others to understand what’s inside us.
