3 Items We’re Adding To Our Wardrobe
Whereas our goal would be to mindfully shop and carefully choose and ponder new clothing purchases, we’re just like you and we like to indulge. How can we cut back and not let ourselves go cuckoo when we enter that new vintage store or hear there’s a sale at Neimans? Well one way to go is to really ask ourselves a few questions. One being, are we making an impulse buy? Another is to ask, are we just purchasing this piece for one specific outfit and will we wear it again? Finally, we like to ask if this is a sustainable piece and does it align with our already existing style? With these questions in mind we have officially decided to add these three pieces to our wardrobe and here’s why.
Also, cashmere garments are remarkably durable, and with proper care, they can last for many years, ensuring a timeless addition to your wardrobe. It’s also great for casual and classy settings making it a versatile garment all should consider owning but lastly, the classic and timeless nature of cashmere fashion means your investment will not go out of style, ensuring that your cashmere piece remains a cherished staple in your wardrobe for years to come.
Next, we’ve really been doing some cleaning regarding our sunglasses collection. Sunglasses are an accessory that really changes as the trends fluctuate. We’ve found we own every pair from multi-colored lenses, reflective aviators a la Balenciaga style and teeny tiny pairs that resemble our middle aged college Lit professor. Is this the most functional array? Probably not. What we’re adding to our newly cleansed collection are more of a 90s inspired medium frame in shades like black, brown and tortoise shell with an oval silhouette. Pairs we realistically grab everyday that match and complement any and every outfit. Now, we’re not saying to discount our statement chunky glasses (Jenna Lyons style) but for our capsule wardrobe we’re investing in these quality styles.
Finally, we’re investing in socks. Yes, socks. Small but mighty impact especially as the weather is changing. We went through our sock drawer and actually discarded 80% of our socks. Dingy, hole-y, poorly fitting and even socks we’ve had since, do we dare say, college. Now, we recommend ankle and crew socks in white, black and gray with light cushioning for extra support. Additionally, we’re adding boot socks in black and brown to wear with knee-high boots, as well as rain boots. Socks take up a lot of drawer space and trust us, there’s no need for sentimentality when it comes to discarding them. Bite the bullet and please, just buy some new pairs, okay?
